The Last Exorcism

Another movie that tries to take advantage of the genre of Blair Witch Project.  It's supposedly a documentary about a preacher who takes a film crew to capture an exorcism.  There's a few chilling parts, but overall, an average movie at best.  It's too bad, because it could have been a great one.

Takers

This was a pretty good action/heist movie.  It should get some attention because it stars R&B singer Chris Brown and rapper T.I.  Definitely one to check out when it hits the video rentals.

Piranha 3D

Once in a great while a movie comes out that is really bad, but you can't help but love it.  This is one of those movies.  It's a throw back to the 80's slasher flicks that didn't care too much about the story, but relied on blood, guts, and nudity to entertain.  If your a fan of blood and guts (and alot of nudity), then this is one for you.

Lottery Ticket

It's nice to finally have a comedy that actually made me laugh.  The story was one that everyone can relate to and the characters seemed to act like many of us would (or how people we know would).

The Expendables

I've been looking forward to this movie for a long time.  It was nice to see a "throw back" movie where the story and plot were just enough to keep the movie moving along while the real emphasis was fighting, shooting, killing, and things blowing up.  For those of you that appreciate the old school action flicks, you'll love it.  The scene with Arnold, Bruce, and Sly was only a few minutes, but was the highlight of the movie.

The Other Guys

Just a side note, there seems to be a real lack of comedies these days that are actually funny.  I have a great sense of humor, but I find most of the movies that are passing themselves off as a comedy are far from it.  This movie is no exception.  There are some funny moments and good jokes, but there's way too much time in between those that is filled with drivel.  This movie also made a fatal mistake at the end, it decided to use the credits to make a purely political statement.  It's supposed to be a comedy for God's sake, why the writer/director/producer decided to use it as a political platform is beyond me.

Dinner for Schmucks

I hate movies like this. Parts of it are really funny while other parts are so not funny it makes your head spin. The premise of the movie sounded good so I went to check it out. Along with the big gap in funny, the actual dinner only made up about 15-20 minutes of the movie. It should have been called "Starting a relationship with a Schmuck then taking him to a short dinner".
