The American

I often like movies that are independent or have that independent feel.  They often have good characters and a great story.  I can sum up this one in one word, BORING.  The plot was slow and I really didn't get into any of the characters, it was just like they were kinda there.  The only one that was fairly interesting was the prostitute that George Clooney had a relationship with.

Resident Evil: Afterlife

It's just what you'd expect from a movie like this, lots of action and gore.  If you liked the other Resident Evil movies, you'll probably like this one too, I know I did.

Machete

I just hate it when a movie that markets itself as an action flick decided to try and make a political statement.  If you want to make a movie and make a statement, there's plenty of ways to do it that aren't so in your face.  Machete is decent on the action, plenty of blood and guts as well.  Normally I probably would have enjoyed this, except for it's need to push an agenda.  The whole thing revolves around illegal aliens and drug lords.  The movie made it abundantly clear that illegals are just honest, simple, decent, exploited folks who have done nothing wrong while anyone who wants a secure border is nothing but a redneck racist or has "other" motives.  Guess they're entitled to their opinion, but they won't be getting anymore of my money.
